Our firm is a boutique law firm, with attorneys who specialize in employment law, constitutional and civil rights law, and administrative law. Our attorneys are highly experienced and well-versed in issues related to workplace harassment and hostile work environment; race, age, gender, and sex discrimination; retaliation, and many other areas of employment law.
In the areas of constitutional and civil rights law, our attorneys handle public accommodation issues such as discrimination and accessibility, as well as police misconduct, excessive force, and prisoners’ rights issues.
We also have an attorney who handles a number of education and administrative law issues. She handles public school issues, such as bullying and retaliation, in addition to requesting and enforcing individualized education plans, 504 Plans, and many other issues related to special education needs.
Lisa C. Ward
Lisa C. Ward earned her law degree at the University of Michigan in 1981.
After graduation, Ms. Ward began her legal career working for the US Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. After practicing in Washington, D.C. for several years, Ms. Ward came back to Michigan in 1986. Ms. Ward worked for the Attorney General’s office for 20 years, where she handled civil rights and employment law cases, including handling a class action lawsuit that involved litigation before the United States Supreme Court.
Ms. Ward left the AG’s office in 2008 to open her own practice. She has managed the Law Offices of Lisa C. Ward, PLLC since that time, and continues to use her extensive knowledge and experience litigating civil rights and employment law cases.
Veronica L. Stachurski
Veronica Stachurski earned her law degree from Michigan State University College of Law in 2020. She first became licensed in Minnesota after graduation, but quickly returned to Michigan, where she has been licensed to practice since 2021. Ms. Stachurski specializes in public school and special education law, in addition to handling all other types of cases that the firm handles.
Ms. Stachurski was appointed as a member of the Foster Care Review Board and has served as a member in Region 2 since October 2023. In conjunction with this work, Ms. Stachurski is on the Board of Directors of Stahili Foundation, an international nonprofit organization, which primarily focuses on child protection, development, and education in Kenya.
